On June 13, 2024, detectives with Investigation Services charged a 38-year-old with abandoning a child and criminal negligence.
On April 27, 2024, 911 Communicators received a report of two young children left home alone without any supervision. Officers were dispatched to the residence where they located the children. An investigation revealed the children had been left alone, without food, for an extended period of time. No physical injuries were sustained.
On June 13, the accused attended the Police Services Building to turn themselves in. They were arrested.
The accused is charged with:
- Abandoning Child x2
- Criminal Negligence x2
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on August 12, 2024.
