Credit Card Stolen, Suspect Arrested

On June 25, 2024, officers with Patrol Services charged 61-year-old Stephen Richman with theft, unauthorized use of credit card, and several other offences.

Around 12:20 p.m., 911 Communicators received a report of theft of a victim’s bag from their workplace in the 0-100 block of East Street. An investigation revealed the accused had stolen the victim’s bag, including their wallet and car keys, and used their credit card at two businesses in the 200 block of Bay Street. Security officers located the accused and took them into custody. Sault Police were dispatched and arrested the accused. All items were recovered and returned to the victim.

The accused is charged with:

  • Theft Under $5,000
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
  • Theft of Credit Card
  • Possession of Credit Card Obtained by Crime
  • Unauthorized Use of Credit Card Data

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on August 26, 2024.
