Saturday saw the 77th commencement ceremony take place on the campus of Lake Superior State University. Lake State Alum Claude H. Denker was the commencement speaker.
Denker who goes by Bud, is President of the Penske Corporation and a long-time supporter of the University. Emilee Nicole Daniel McDaniel was the graduating student speaker.
McDaniel, from Manistique, graduates Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and will be moving on to Michigan State Universities College of Veterinary Medicine to continue her studies.
