On October 8, 2023, officers with Patrol Services charged a 42-year-old Sault resident with assault with a weapon and several other offences.
Around 6:30 a.m., 911 Communicators received a report of a stabbing in a residence in the 0-100 block of Chapple Avenue. Officers were dispatched to the scene and arrested the accused. Investigation revealed the accused had gotten into an argument with the victim, who is known to them, and stabbed them with a hunting knife. The victim was transported to hospital with serious injuries.
The accused is charged with:
- Assault with Weapon
- Assault Causing Bodily Harm
- Failure to Comply with Undertaking x3
The accused was held in custody pending a hearing in Weekend and Statutory Holiday court.
