White Pines brings you news of Newsies!!

Newsies… a tale of paper delivery youth rising up against management in the late 1800s is back and not as an adaptation but as the original broadway production. It is hitting the Sault Commmunity Theatre Centre on December 7th, 8th, and 9th.

An ambitious production, the shows lavish song catalogue and extensive choreography would challenge the most professional of performers. Locally, however, high school students at White Pines CV & S, under the combined guidance of Hollie Filice, Jen Febbraro as choreographer, and Katrina Pierman on set design, are ready to show the theatre goers just what they can do.

A fraction of the expansive cast dropped by the First Local News’ studio to discuss the production and what theatre means for them, as well as how they are managing to balance their commitments ranging from school, to theatre and onto homelife.

Tickets are on sale now, so don’t miss your chance to see these talented young people as they bring you an evening of song and dance! For more information or to purchase your tickets in advance, see their website, designed by Grade 12 student and cast member, Graham Kirk.
