Two face multiple felonies related to home invasion fail in Negaunee

NEGAUNEE, Mich. – After an early Saturday morning arrest following reports of shots fired inside a Negaunee home, two people are facing multiple felonies.

On Monday afternoon, Joshua Rhodes, 35, and Adrienne Rhodes, 33, were arraigned in Marquette County District Court.

Joshua stands charged with 4 felonies: one count of assault with intent to murder, one count of first-degree home invasion, and 2 counts of felony firearms. His bond was set at $500,000. Adrienne faces charges of two felonies: first-degree home invasion and carrying a concealed weapon. She has a cash or surety bond of $10,000.

The NPD said about the arrest that responding officers discovered that Joshua had attempted to break into the home through a window and was subsequently discovered by the 60-year-old female homeowner.

The police report that Joshua then shot once at the homeowner, who shot once back at him. No one was injured as a result of the shoot-out. Is was further reported that the homeowner then locked herself in the bedroom and called 911. Upon arrival, officers located Joshua in the basement of the house and did then place him under arrest.

Adrienne was arrested some time later, though police have yet to release details about how she was connected.

Both Joshua and Adrienne are scheduled for probable cause conferences on Sept. 21 and preliminary exams on Sept. 28.
