This Saturday be sure to make your Doughnation

Doughnation Day

There has never been a better time to visit the recently launched COBS Bread in the Churchill Plaza than this upcoming Saturday!

Join COBS Bread on March 2nd on Doughnation Day, where $2 from every 6-pack of hot cross buns sold is donated to a local charity in our community.

  • COBS Bread has a national target to donate over $500,000 to over 100 charities across Canada. The local goal is set out below!
  • Our hot cross buns come in 3 flavours – Traditional Fruit, Apple Cinnamon and Cranberry Orange
  • COBS Bread bakes fresh in-house all day, every day, and when the doors close, all leftover baked goods are donated to local charities. The next morning, they start fresh.

To further on this COBS Bread Churchill Plaza has partnered with our local Alzheimer Society Sault Ste. Marie & Algoma District.

Doughnation Day

“We chose Alzheimer’s Society because of the amazing work they do in our community to support local families during difficult times.  The work they do to help improve the quality of life is truly inspiring and heartwarming.”

“With this being our first Doughnation Day Campaign, we set an initial local goal of $3,000 and it is breathtaking to see the generosity of our community and willingness to support.”

“We quickly surpassed that goal and have set a new goal to reach $6,000 prior to March 2. We are currently at $5,267. ”

“We are very grateful for our customers and community in helping us to make our Doughnation Day such a success that will make an impact in our community.

The community is invited to come by the bakery and meet some of the amazing staff from Alzheimer Society of Sault Ste. Marie & Algoma District.

Bea Fioramanti, Resource Development Coordinator for Alzheimer Society Sault Ste. Marie & Algoma District said of the collaboration:

“We are so grateful that the local Cobs Bread has chosen us to benefit from their first Doughnation Day! Funds will support local services that improve the quality of life of local people living with a dementia like Alzheimer’s disease.”

“We would like to send a huge thank you to Karen and Matt and their team, and to our very supportive and generous community for their support. You are making a difference!”

“The local Alzheimer Society has many resources, programs and services, and a compassionate and professional team that can help you along your journey with information, advice, and services.”
