SunChips snacks and Munchies recalled

Frito Lay Canada has voluntarily recalled SunChips harvest cheddar flavour multigrain snacks and munchies original snack mix. According to a release from the company, the action was taken after a seasoning supplier notified Frito Lay of a potentially contaminated ingredient supplied to the company.

The company did not find any salmonella in the seasoning it was supplied to the company, however, the decision to recall the product was taken out of “an abundance of caution.” According to the release, Frito Lay is working with the Canadian Food and Inspection Agency to remove the recalled products from the market.

The recall applies to the products and flavours listed above with the best before dates in the company’s recall notice. No other SunChips flavours are affected by the recall. For more information or to request product reimbursement, consumers can visit the company’s website, www.fritolay.ca.
