St. Vincent Place needs your help! Drive Through with donations to support!

St. Vincent empty shelves

St. Vincent Place has two more weekly drive-thru food drives happening this summer, and they’re hoping to see the community continue to step up to help fill our shelves.

Although the Tuesday drives so far have seen a good amount of food being dropped off, the food bank has been so busy that food is going out quicker than it’s coming in. In fact, the storeroom shelves are emptier than they’ve ever been – and they are even running low on soup and they usually have a good amount of that in stock!

If residents are in a position to support the food bank, they are invited to take advantage of the last two summer drive-thru food drives on Tuesday, August 22 and 29 from 10AM to 4:30PM. Just pull up to the main doors at 222 Albert St. E. and volunteers will collect your donations so that you don’t even need to get out of your vehicle.

If you can’t make it then, feel free to drop off your donation any time Monday to Friday 9:30AM to 3:30PM.

It is known that the Sault is a very generous community, so the staff at St. Vincent know that those who are able will help them restock their shelves to get them through to the Big Blue Food Drive on September 30.

St. Vincent Place is happy to receive donations of any non perishables, but for a list of what is needed most often, visit www.vincentplacessm.ca/wishlist.

If you have questions about the St. Vincent Place food bank, would like to volunteer for the drive-thru food drives, or are a business owner who would like to run your own drive, please contact Sara at [email protected] or 705-253-2770 ext. 202.

  1. Pretty Sad. I think we are all feeling this inflation. I am thinking of using up there services soon as my paycheck hasn’t changed and yet everything else is going up. If I could help St. Vincent or soup kitchen I would but I can’t even afford to buy food that I want to make anymore everything has to be on sale. It’s whatever is on sale I make that week besides that I would be broke all the time, what am I saying I am broke completely broke and it sucks. The sad part is I make way more than minimum wage.
