On Tuesday, April 16th, 2024, shortly after 4 pm., Sault Ste. Marie Fire Service crews responded to a call of a residential fire in the 1200 block of Peoples Road.
Upon arrival, there was visible smoke and flames from the attached garage structure. Fire crews were able to contain and extinguish the fire.
The homeowner was alerted of the fire by working smoke alarms in the dwelling.
After further investigation, the cause of the fire was determined to be hot tools in close proximity to combustible materials.
There is significant fire and smoke damage to the dwelling. There were no injuries to report.
