UPDATE:
On October 06, 2023, around 11:00 p.m. Sault Ste. Marie Police began an investigation into a firearm call in the 400 block of Douglas Street. Officers were dispatched and determined a firearm had been discharged; a second similar incident occurred in the same area around 05:00 a.m. on October 07, 2023.
No injuries have been reported because of the shooting.
Detectives with Investigation Services are currently investigating. At this time the incident is not believed to be a random attack. Anyone who may have dashcam, doorbell camera or surveillance video of the
area during the times the incidents, the moments leading up to or afterward are urged to contact Sault Ste. Marie Police by calling 705-949-6300 ext. 9.
First REPORT
Sault Ste. Marie Police have Douglas street between 4th and 6th Avenue blocked and the Tactical unit have guns drawn at the old church referred to as the “Club House”.
The raid began about 3:00pm Saturday afternoon. People were seen with their hands up as Police made arrests. It is not known at this time the nature of the raid.

The building, a former church and called the “clubhouse” by those that live in the area say it is known as a gathering place for a “gang of bikers”
The Ballistic Armoured Tactical Transport vehicle was used in the incident .
