On July 15, 2023, officers with Patrol Services charged 31-year-old Christian Bebanong of Cochrane, Ontario with robbery, among other charges.
Around 8:30 p.m., 911 Communicators received a report of a robbery in the 400 block of Great Northern Road. Police were informed that a person with a knife had assaulted an employee when they were confronted about leaving the business with goods they had not paid for. Officers were dispatched to the area and located the suspect, later identified as the accused, nearby.
As officers attempted to arrest the accused, the accused resisted and struggled with officers. Despite their continued resistance, they were arrested. Further investigation found the accused to be in possession of a knife.
The accused is charged with:
- Robbery
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Resisting a Peace Officer
The accused is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.
