On June 22, 2024, officers with Patrol Services charged 31-year-old Cory Cloutier with assault with a weapon, administering a noxious thing, and several other offences.
Around 9:00 p.m. on June 19, 2024, 911 Communicators received a report of the accused assaulting a victim with bear spray in the 0-100 block of East Street. The accused and victim are known to one another. The victim sustained minor physical injuries. A warrant was obtained for the accused’s arrest.
On June 22, 2024, officers patrolling Wellington Street East conducted a traffic stop of a person riding a bicycle with no light. The cyclist was identified as the accused, and they were arrested on the strength of a warrant.
The accused is charged with:
- Assault with Weapon
- Administer Noxious Thing
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Possession of Prohibited Weapon Contrary to Prohibition Order
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
