On Friday, September 8th , 2023, Sault Ste. Marie fire crews responded to a call of a fire in the 0-100 block of Estelle Street. The fire started shortly before 7 p.m. in the residential dwelling.
Upon arrival, fire crews were directed to the upper level of the dwelling where smoke and flames were visible. Fire crews were able to contain and extinguish the fire.
After further investigation, the cause of the fire was determined to be combustibles in close proximity to an open flame.
Red Cross was contacted. PUC Services and Enbridge gas were called and attended the scene.
There is smoke and fire damage to the residence. There were no injuries to report.
