On March 4, 2024, officers with the Crime Suppression Unit, with the assistance of Patrol Services, charged 24-year-old Nathan Pregent-Daoust with possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime.
Around 4:30 p.m., officers patrolling the downtown area conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of Albert Street East. Upon speaking with the driver, who officers knew to have a suspended licence, they saw drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. The accused was arrested for driving while under suspension.
A subsequent search found the accused to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana, $230 in Canadian currency and approximately 109 grams of suspected cocaine separated into 97 bags. They were rearrested.
The accused is charged with:
- Possession of Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on April 22, 2024.
