On February 7, 2024, officers with Patrol Services charged 31-year-old Mukesh Kumar with assault, theft, and obstructing justice.
On February 1, 2024, 911 Communicators received a report of an altercation in which the victim was assaulted and stolen from. The victim had attempted to return an item to a business in the 100 block of Great Northern Road when a verbal argument with the accused, who is a staff member, ensued.
The victim left the business, and the accused followed them, grabbed their wrist, pushed them, and took their cellphone. They then dropped the cellphone on the ground and attempted, unsuccessfully, to run it over with their vehicle.
Officers located the accused on February 7, 2024, and they were arrested. The accused is charged with:
- Assault x2
- Theft – Under $5,000
- Obstructing Justice
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on April 8, 2024.
