UPDATE: Missing Person Found

Members from Sault Ste Marie Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the OPP’s Emergency Response Team (ERT) have located Donald NOEL and is being transported to local hospital for precautionary measures.  

The OPP would like to thank the public and media for their assistance in this investigation.

Members from Sault Ste Marie Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the OPP’s Emergency Response Team (ERT) are currently searching for 66-year-old Donald NOEL from Sault Ste Marie who was last seen at 5:00 a.m., on August 8, 2023, and was travelling on Highway 556 (Ranger Lake Road and Laughing Lake Road) to a friend’s bush camp at Laughing Lake and was to return home between 6:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., on August 8, 2023.

He is described as a white male, 5′ 6″ tall, weights 280 lbs, heavy build, long white hair and balding, brown eyes, long while beard. He is wearing black t-shirt, black joggers, a red baseball cap and uses a cane.

Donald NOEL may be travelling on his green Can-Am 650 ATV in the Sand Lake and Two Jack Lake areas.

Police and family are concerned for his well-being and are requesting the public’s assistance to help locate him.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Donald NOEL is urged to contact their local OPP detachment at 1-888-310-1122 or their nearest police authority.
