After four days of being shut down , Highway 17 at Batchawana through to Wawa has now re-opened.
The highway was closed in both directions due to heavy snow squall activity dumping as much as two feet of snow on the area from Goulais to Wawa since Sunday night .
Traffic has been backed up on the highway with transport trucks and passenger vehicles waiting for the highway to re-open.
Environment Canada has cancelled weather alerts for this area. Snow Squall activity has now moved to the Michigan side of Lake Superior.
