Dynamic Patrol officers, 48 hours Downtown

The ongoing Dynamic Patrol initiative continued from July 14, 2023, through July 28, 2023.

During that time, eight officers spent a total of 48 hours in the downtown core – seven and a half of which were spent on foot. The other 40.5 hours were cruiser or bicycle patrols. This is in addition to regular patrols of the downtown area by officers who are not working Dynamic Patrol.

Throughout the two-week timeframe, Dynamic Patrol officers issued three provincial offence notices, responded to ten calls for service, made four arrests, and attended one community event.

The Dynamic Patrol initiative is ongoing.

  1. They need to spend all of their time on foot and bike, AND it needs to be between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. Otherwise it is a waste of time and pretty much pointless. The crooks sleep all day and commit crimes all night.
