City Hall

The following City facilities and services will be closed for Sir William H. Hearst Day (August 7 Civic Holiday):

  • Cemetery office
  • City Landfill and Household Hazardous Waste Depot
  • GFL Memorial Gardens, office and Box Office
  • James L. McIntryre Centennial Library and the North Branch Library
  • John Rhodes arena
  • Ronald A. Irwin Civic Centre
  • Seniors Centres (Bay Street Active Living Centre and Northern Community Centre Seniors 55+)
  • Public Works office. For 24-hour emergency service, call 705-759-5201
  • Sault Transit office

Garbage & Recycling Collection

No garbage, leaf and yard waste or recycling pickup on Monday, August 7. Collection for the remainder of the week will be one day late.

The City’s landfill and Household Hazardous Waste Depot will be closed August 7. For more information, visit saultstemarie.ca/waste or call Public Works and Engineering Services at 705-759-5201.


Transit Services
Regular transit and Parabus service will operate on Monday, August 7. Transit will operate hourly, leaving the terminal at a quarter after the hour (weekend service). The Community Bus will not operate on August 7. The Pointe Des Chenes (PDC) bus will operate as follows:

Ermatinger∙Clergue National Historic Site
Open August 7 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Marine Facilities
Bellevue and Bondar marinas are open August 7 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Seasonal launch passes are $66 and are available from the fuel kiosk at Bellevue marina during regular operating hours or at the Community Development and Enterprise Services office at the Civic Centre. Debit or Credit card is preferred. For daily launch, Boaters can also download and use the Passport Parking mobile app and use zone 3759 for daily launch, or onsite pay and display dispenser which accepts credit card and coin.

Arenas
Northern Community Centre will be open for scheduled events.

Pools/Splash Pad
The Peter G. Manzo and V.E. Greco outdoor pools are open 1 to 7 p.m., weather permitting.

The John Rhodes pool will be open regular scheduled hours and lessons. Parent & Child/Lane Swim 11:15 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and a Public Swim 1:15 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The Bellevue Park Splash Pad is open daily 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
