On September 2, 2023, officers with Patrol Services charged 26-year-old Patricia Viermaa with operation while impaired and three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Around 9:00 a.m., 911 Communicators received a report of a person asleep and slumped over the wheel of a running vehicle in the 100 block of Henrietta Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found the vehicle to be half on the curb and the driver to be asleep at the wheel with drug paraphernalia in their hand.

Officers woke the driver and identified them as the accused. After speaking with the accused, officers developed grounds to believe their ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by drugs. They were arrested.

A subsequent search of the vehicle found the accused to be in possession of approximately seven grams of a substance believed to be cocaine, approximately two grams of a substance believed to be fentanyl, approximately seven grams of a substance believed to be methamphetamine, and other drug paraphernalia.

The accused is charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired (Drug and/or Alcohol)
  • Possession of Schedule I Substance for Purpose of Trafficking x2
  • Possession of Schedule II Substance for Purpose of Trafficking

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on November 20, 2023.
