On September 2, 2023, officers with Patrol Services charged a 34-year-old male and 27-year-old female with possession of a schedule III substance and possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking.

Around 3:30 a.m., patrol officers conducted a traffic stop on Wellington Street West. The driver was identified . Officers observed a dispensary cannabis bag as well as an open container of alcohol on the floor of the passenger seat. As the cannabis and alcohol were readily accessible to the driver, police conducted a search of the vehicle and its occupants.

Officers located approximately 15 grams of a substance believed to be psilocybin, approximately 37 grams of a substance believed to be cocaine, and other drug paraphernalia. The substance believed to be cocaine was later tested and confirmed to be cocaine and has an estimated street value of $3,730.

Both the driver and the passenger were arrested.

The driver is charged with:

  • Possession of Schedule I Substance for Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of Schedule III Substance

The passenger is charged with:

  • Possession of Schedule I Substance for Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of Schedule III Substance

Both accused were released on an undertaking and are scheduled to appear in court on November 20, 2023.
