Rotary’s Battle of the Sections takes place this Saturday, March 9th at the GFL Memorial Gardens when the Sault Greyhounds face off against the Windsor Spitfires. This pass-the-cup fundraiser is organized each year through the Rotary Club of Sault Ste Marie in support of Rotary Youth Projects. The section that donates the most per person will receive a gift sponsored by Final Touch Property Maintenance Services.

“Over the last Twenty-Nine years, our Club has not only had a lot of fun at this event, we’ve also collected a cumulative $100,000 for our local programs since 1995,” shared Rod Goodall, Battle of the Sections Co-Chair. “We thank the fans once again in advance for their generosity in dropping whatever they can afford into the Rotary mug this Saturday night.”

The service club has invited a member of THRIVE Child Development to represent Rotary during the game’s opening ceremonies alongside the club’s president, Gabriele Scholz-DiTommaso.

Founded in 1918, the Club’s mandate to support children with physical disabilities has been the heart behind the hard work of hundreds of Rotarians spanning generations. Rotary invests in the Sault’s youth through Rotary Youth Exchange, Rotary Algoma STEM Fair, Rotary Sports Awards, scholarships, local projects such as the Rotary Adventure Playground at Bellevue Park, and its partnership with THRIVE Child Development Centre. It is only because of dedicated Rotarians, tireless volunteers, and our extremely generous community that the Rotary Club of Sault Ste. Marie has had the privilege to give back millions of dollars and touch countless lives. To learn more visit www.RotarySault.com.
