Call for Artists: 2024 Arts and Culture Mural Project

The Downtown Association and the City of Sault Ste. Marie provides a vibrant opportunity for artists to leave their mark on the City’s cultural landscape. In conjunction with the upcoming Arts and Culture Festival scheduled for September 2024, the organizations are seeking submissions for the creation of up to three murals.

Selected artists will showcase the diversity and creativity inherent in the region. As part of the project’s commitment to supporting local talent and artists within Northern Ontario, this festival seeks applicants from the region, although artists from all communities are encouraged to apply.

“In support of this Community Arts Project and Festival, the Downtown Association underscores its commitment to creating meaningful experiences. The importance of celebrating our community’s identity and contributing to public art beautifies the streetscape and urban tapestry of Sault Ste. Marie, creating a sense of place in downtown,” said Nicholas Luck, Executive Director of the Downtown Association of Sault Ste. Marie.

Artists can submit three portfolio pieces, a resume detailing their past works, and a completed registration form. Applications will be accepted until Friday, May 24, 2024, at 4:30 p.m. For more information, contact Aliesha Moore, Arts and Culture Lead by email at [email protected]  or visit www.saultstemarie.ca.
