Break and Enter, Assault, Possession for Purpose of Trafficking

On December 3, 2023, officers with Patrol Services charged 21-year-old Matthias Profoehr with break and enter, possession for the purpose of trafficking, assault, and other offences.

Around 12:00 p.m., 911 Communicators received a report of a break and enter at a residence in the 500 block of Albert Street West. Officers were dispatched to the area and located the accused, who matched the description of the suspect, nearby. They were arrested.

A subsequent search found the accused to be in possession of a baseball bat, a prohibited knife, 54 pills of suspected MDMA, and approximately 21 grams of suspected methamphetamine powder. The estimated street value of the drugs seized is more than $2,700. Further investigation revealed the accused had entered the home of someone known to them without their consent and threatened them verbally and with the baseball bat.

The accused is charged with:

  • Possession of Schedule I Substance for Purpose of Trafficking x2
  • Break and Enter – Commit Indictable Offence
  • Possession of Prohibited Weapon
  • Assault with Weapon
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • Uttering Threats

The accused is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.
