On May 13, 2024, officers with Patrol Services charged 33-year-old Tyler Verville with arson.
Around 5:40 a.m. on May 12, 2024, Sault Fire Services attended a fire at a business in the 300 block of Albert Street East. The fire, which damaged property, was deemed to be suspicious in nature and Sault Police were called to attend. An investigation identified the individual who started the fire as the accused. A warrant was obtained for their arrest.
Around 4:00 p.m. on May 13, 2024, officers located the accused in the 300 block of Queen Street East, and they were arrested on the strength of the warrant.
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on July 8, 2024.
