Accused Found with Stolen Truck, Charged

On November 24, 2023, officers with Patrol Services charged 38-year-old Joseph King with possession of property obtained by crime, resisting a peace officer, and several other offences.

Around 4:00 a.m., officers patrolling the 0-100 block of Pentagon Boulevard saw a pickup truck, which had been reported stolen two days earlier, in the driveway of a residence. When officers approached the vehicle, the accused got out and ran away – hopping fences and running through multiple yards.

Officers pursued the accused on foot and, despite further physical resistance, arrested them in the 400 block of McNabb Street.

Further investigation revealed the accused was also a suspect in a break and enter at a business in the 300 block of Lake Street on November 23, 2023, during which property was damaged and a quantity of cash was stolen. The accused was rearrested for these offences.

The accused is charged with:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
  • Resist Peace Officer
  • Break and Enter – Intent to Commit Indictable Offence
  • Mischief – Render Property Inoperative
  • Theft – Under $5,000
  • Operation While Prohibited

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
