DEARBORN, Mich. – With the state gas price average dropping 10 cents over the past week, drivers may experience some relief at the pumps.
Motorists are currently paying $3.59 per gallon, on average, for regular unleaded gas. The represents a 2 cent decrease over this time last month and a 6 cent drop when compared to this time last year. With the price decrease, the state is currently sitting below the national average which is now $3.67 per gallon.
“Michigan motorists are finally seeing lower prices at the pump,” said Adrienne Woodland, spokesperson, AAA-The Auto Club Group. “However, a rise in oil prices alongside tight supply could push gas prices higher.”
Around the Upper Peninsula, the lowest gas price average is to be found in Menominee County at $3.44 per gallon while the highest is in Mackinac County at $3.79 per gallon.
