Youths steal fire extinguishers, use them, get charged

On December 10, 2023, officers with Patrol Services charged three youths – one 15-year-old and two 14-year-olds – with theft and mischief.

On December 9, 911 Communicators received a report of three youths misusing fire extinguishers in the 300 block of Queen Street East. The suspects left the area before officers arrived. Further investigation revealed the suspects had entered a business in the 200 block of Queen Street East and stolen two fire extinguishers less than 15 minutes before police were called.

On December 10, investigation revealed the identities of the three accused and they were located and arrested.

Each of the accused are charged with:

  • Theft Under $5,000 x2
  • Mischief Under $5,000

All three accused were released on undertakings and are scheduled to appear in court on January 30, 2024.

  1. Too young to join the losers ‘Я’ us club, good thing they got caught. Hopefully will think better of it the next time they have the urge to break the law.
