Winter weather travel advisory in effect for tonight for Sault Ste. Marie and the Northshore.
Heavy snowfall with total accumulations of 7 to 15 cm.
Strong wind gusts resulting in significantly reduced visibility in blowing snow.
The storm is expected to roll in early this evening and last through Saturday.
Snow will be heavy at times and combined with strong northerly winds will reduce visibility.
The last warning amounted to a dusting of 5 cm. Don’t put much faith in weather ‘forecasts’.
Since when is 7 to 15 cm considered HEAVY SNOW? To me, it is simply winter in the Sault.
People either can’t or don’t want to remember the *real winters* that we used to have along with the real winter temperatures. -30, -40 F, and even colder on occasion.
Many have gotten soft and are afraid to go out if it’s below zero with a couple of inches of snow on the roads!
