Officers in Traffic Services have charged 33-year-old Phillip Williamson with dangerous operation and causing death by criminal negligence in relation to a fatal collision that took place on September 6, 2023.
The collision involved three vehicles: two pickup trucks and a delivery van. One of the pickup truck drivers, 26-year-old Mikayla Ouellett, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The accused was travelling eastbound when it struck the other two vehicles.
The accused was charged with careless driving causing death under the Highway Traffic Act in September. After further investigation, the accused is also charged with:
- Dangerous Operation
- Causing Death by Criminal Negligence
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on January 22, 2024.
