A transport truck that caught fire closed a portion of Highway 17 near Terrace Bay Wednesday afternoon. We hear that the Terrace Bay Fire Department responded to the call. The transport truck was engulfed in flames with heavy black smoke visible for several kilometers in both directions.
The incident occurred at Cavers Hill near Pays Plat – about 4 and half hours north of Sault Ste. Marie.
The highway was recently re-opened to one lane of traffic , alternating. Authorities say if you are travelling the highway to expect delays most of the afternoon.
