Three Charged With Firearm Offences

On March 6, 2024, detectives with the Crime Suppression Unit and Drug Enforcement Unit charged three individuals with firearm offences.

Around 3:20 p.m., officers patrolling Andrew Street conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle which had not come to a complete stop at a stop sign. Upon speaking with the occupants, officers saw drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. Officers conducted a search of the vehicle and located a shotgun which had its serial number tampered with and a rifle. The three occupants of the vehicle were arrested.

45-year-old Bernie Nadon is charged with:

  • Unauthorized Possession of Firearm x2
  • Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order x10
  • Possession of Firearm Knowing Serial Number Has Been Tampered With
  • Unauthorized Possession in Motor Vehicle x2
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm x2
  • Careless Storage of Firearm x2
  • Failure to Comply With Release Order – Other Than to Attend Court x2

This accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

41-year-old Chantelle Bonenfant is charged with:

  • Unauthorized Possession of Firearm x2
  • Possession of Firearm Knowing Serial Number Has Been Tampered With
  • Unauthorized Possession in Motor Vehicle x2
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm x2
  • Careless Storage of Firearm x2

This accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

45-year-old Billie-Jo Marin is charged with:

  • Unauthorized Possession of Firearm x2
  • Possession of Firearm Knowing Serial Number Has Been Tampered With
  • Unauthorized Possession in Motor Vehicle x2
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm x2
  • Careless Storage of Firearm x2

This accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
