On July 18, 2023, officers with Patrol Services charged 39-year-old Thomas Kidder with robbery, assault, and several other charges.
On April 14, 2023, 911 Communicators received a report of an assault in the 200 block of Wellington Street West. The caller reported they had been stabbed with a knife by the accused, who is known to them.
Upon arrival, officers learned the accused had stabbed the victim multiple times, verbally threatened their life, and stole their phone. The victim was transported to hospital with minor injuries. Efforts were made to locate the accused, but officers were unable to find them.
On July 18, 2023, officers were dispatched to an unrelated call. Upon arrival, officers identified the accused as having a warrant for their arrest related to the incident in April and they were arrested on the strength of the warrant.
The accused is charged with:
- Assault Causing Bodily Harm
- Assault With a Weapon
- Robbery
- Uttering Threats
- Failure to Comply with Probation Order
The accused is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.
