On March 25, 2024, officers with Patrol Services charged 26-year-old Norman Shaganash with theft, unauthorized use of a credit card, uttering threats, and several other offences.

On September 10, 2023, Sault Police received a report of theft of a debit card from a motor vehicle in the 0-100 block of Gibbs Street and the debit card having been fraudulently used at three separate businesses shortly thereafter. Investigation revealed the identity of the suspect as the accused and a warrant was obtained for their arrest.

On March 25, 2024, 911 Communicators received a report of the accused uttering threats toward security staff at a business in the 200 block of Bay Street. Officers were dispatched to the business where they located, and arrested, the accused.

The accused is charged with:

  • Uttering Threats x2
  • Theft Under $5,000
  • Theft of Credit Card
  • Use of Credit Card x6
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
  • Failure to Comply with Probation Order x3

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on May 27, 2024.
