The process of selecting a new CAO has begun with the appointment of the Mayor and two city councilors to the selection committee.
Chief Administrative Officer Malcom White is set to retire in January 2024 – he’s been with the City for 35 years. The selection of a new CAO is a huge undertaking.
Mayor Matthew Shoemaker will be joined by newbie councillor Angela Caputo and long-time councilor, Marchy Bruni. Caputo received the most votes by her council colleagues to sit on the committee.

The City will use a recruiting firm to assist in collecting possible candidates, with a short list narrowing down the search. The selection committee ultimately recommend a candidate leading to council meeting in open session that could lead to an appointment of the new CAO.
