Suspect With Knife Threatens Children

On August 2, 2023, officers with Patrol Services charged 41-year-old Justin St Amour with assault with a weapon, among other offences.

Around 3:00 p.m., 911 Communicators received a report of someone having been threatened with a knife in the 0-100 block of Stevens Street. Officers were dispatched to the residence.

Investigation revealed when the victim had found a stranger in their yard and asked them to leave, they threatened the victim with a knife. Shortly after the first call, 911 Communicators received a second call about a person threatening two children in the area of Wilson Street and Nino Drive.

Officers, with the assistance of the Canine Unit, conducted a track and located the suspect, who they identified as the accused, in a carport in the 300 block of Morin Avenue. They were placed under investigative detention while police located the knife used to threaten the first victim in a nearby backyard. The accused was arrested.

The accused is charged with:

  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • Breach of Probation x5

The accused is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.
