Suspect Had Bear Spray and Made Slashing Motions with Knife

On May 5, 2024, officers with Patrol Services charged 26-year-old Brent Boissoneau-Stone with assault with a weapon, uttering threats, and several other offences.

On April 2, 2024, 911 Communicators received a report of someone brandishing weapons in the 100 block of Gore Street. Although the accused had left prior to officers’ arrival, an investigation revealed the accused had brandished bear spray and made slashing motions with a knife toward a victim when they were asked to leave the victim’s property. As the accused was leaving, they verbally threatened to damage the victim’s property. A warrant was obtained for their arrest.

On May 5, 2024, officers patrolling the area of Wellington Street East at Hughes Street saw the accused, who they knew to be wanted on a warrant. Although they initially attempted to run away from police, the accused was arrested.

The accused is charged with:

  • Assault with Weapon x2
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • Uttering Threats
  • Failure to Comply with Probation Order x4

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing
