Sovereign Communications presented two community organizations with an early Christmas gift Wednesday.

ARCH Hospice and the Hospice for EUP were presented with cheques totaling $17,500.

“This was our 2nd Annual Handbags for Hospice event.  Our group at Sovereign got to work!  The 2022 event was run as a 5-Hour Facebook live event. ” said Sovereign Communications spokesperson, Andie Aiello . “It was met with great success and the request from many that we move to in-person.  In 2023, we made it the best of both worlds,  with 2 in-person events (a brunch and wine and cheese event at the beautiful Seven Bridges Chapel Air BnB in Sault, Michigan) on the same day, followed up by a week long online auction a couple of weeks later.”

“We have become more and more familiar with the level of fundraising necessary on an annual basis for the Hospice groups to provide services to area families.  They are amazing!   As a border town,  with staff and family on both sides,  we decided to divide the proceeds between Hospice of the EUP and ARCH Hospice.  In 2023,  that meant $7,500.00 to Hospice of the EUP and $10,000 Canadian to ARCH Hospice.  Our goal is for 2024 to be even bigger!” Aiello said.
