Soo Greyhounds and the ‘Week of Giving’

The Soo Greyhounds are gearing up for a week of giving back to the community, showcasing their commitment to making a difference in Sault Ste. Marie.

From November 15th to November 17th, the Greyhounds will be hosting a series of charitable events, including the Hounds for the Hungry Food Drive and the much-anticipated Teddy Bear Toss & Stuff-a-Bus event.

Hounds for the Hungry Food Drive:The Soo Greyhounds are teaming up with the Sault Ste. Marie Soup Kitchen Community Centre and St Vincent Place for a Hounds for the Hungry Food Drive. This initiative is aimed at supporting the local community and helping those in need during the holiday season.

Donations of non-perishable food items will be accepted at the Soo Greyhounds’ home game against the Sudbury Wolves on Wednesday, November 15th.

Fans are encouraged to bring their food donations to the game and make a positive impact on the lives of fellow community members.

Teddy Bear Toss & Stuff-a-Bus:One of the most heartwarming traditions in hockey, the Teddy Bear Toss, returns to the GFL Memorial Gardens on Friday, November 17th, during the Soo Greyhounds’ game against the North Bay Battalion.

Fans are invited to bring new stuffed animals or winter wear (toques, gloves, scarves, and socks) to the game; when the Greyhounds score their first goal, fans can launch their teddy bears onto the ice. Please place all items in a plastic bag before throwing them on the ice.
All collected teddy bears will be donated to Christmas Cheer, bringing smiles to children’s faces during the holiday season.

For the Stuff-a-Bus portion of the event, a bus will be parked out from of the main entrance (box office entrance) prior to the game to collect donations of toys and winter wear.

Mark your calendars and join the Soo Greyhounds in making a significant impact in the community during this Week of Giving.
