Environment Canada continues to issue a special air quality statement for the area due to heavy smoke from forest fires.
Most of the Algoma district will experience smoke for the next day or possibly two days as the smoke moves in from Quebec.
Smoke plumes from forest fires in Quebec and northeastern Ontario will continue to affect the area, resulting in deteriorated air quality. Conditions are expected to improve for some areas Tuesday night or Wednesday.
Air quality and visibility due to wildfire smoke can fluctuate over short distances and can vary considerably from hour to hour.
