Suddenly in Calgary, with his beloved wife Linda by his side on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at the age of 77.

Son of Stafford (d 1985) and Marjorie Smith (d 2016). Loving Brother of Stafford Smith (d 1941), Sharron Piraino (d 2011), Shirley Robertson (d 2020) and Richard (d 2020), Christine Madill (Donald), Linda Wootton (Tom) and Terrance Smith (d 2022). Cherished father of Stafford Smith (b 1967 – d 2018), Stacey Collins (John), Stephanie Maione (Steve), Stephen Smith, StarrElla Smith (b 1976 – d 2019), Stelena Nardi (Keith), Sarah Hauser (Levi), Stratton Smith (b 1984 – d 1999), Stuart Smith (Kaila) and Stryanna Smith. Proud Grandpa of Justin, Carrie, Austen, Kirsten (Brandon), Christian (Datrie), Crawford, Karisma (Vitaliy), Zackery, Dereck, Samantha (Joshua), Julian, Joshua (Michelle), Steven (Ellen), Paxton, Colton, Maryann and Olivea (Blair), Nathan, Benjamin, Kyle, Teija, Isabella, Aedan, Hunter, Kaliyah and Tristyn. Proud Great Grandfather of Layla, Michael, Nya, Sofia, Nova, Amelia, Kacey and the many many more to come!…. Loving uncle of many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and all family relations present and to come.

Beloved Husband, Treasured Father and Grandfather, Canada ….Your stomping grounds coast to coast east to west and back again countless times… Love for God and Family the driving force for Life… Prolific Poet, storyteller and songwriter, walking humbly with all who crossed his path and eagerly taking every opportunity to encourage the ever so many, many hearts along the way. Always willing and ever ready to lend a helping hand. A word of comfort a word of cheer, walking along whistling a tune. an unassuming forcefield of ever present, unwavering Love and positivity. We have been blessed beyond measure with every moment we had You here present with us…. You filled each and every day with so many wonderful memories. Proving time and time again that true Joy has such a high value and sacrificial cost, a life laid down only for loves sake .. putting others needs before Your own. Humbly asking for help when required and constantly looking for the opportunity to be a blessing as soon as opportunity allowed. Leaving such Big boots to fill…. Leaving so many people hoping and wanting to be just like You…. What an inspiration, what massive love, what a magnificent legacy.

Friends may visit Destiny Christian Centre (633 Wallace Terrace) on Saturday, November 25, 2023 from 11 am until time of funeral service at 1 pm. Pastors Rob and Stacey Quinlan officiating. Interment to follow at Goulais River Cemetery. Memorial contributions (payable online or by cheque) to Teen Challenge.
