On December 9, 2023, detectives with the Drug Enforcement Unit and Crime Suppression Unit, with assistance from the Emergency Services Unit, charged 41-year-old Krista Merola and 44-year-old David Richards with firearm and ammunition offences.
On December 9, detectives executed a search warrant for a residence in the 1400 block of Peoples Road. The two accused were found inside the residence and were in possession of a rifle and ammunition. They were arrested.
Both accused were charged with:
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Careless Storage of a Firearm
- Careless Storage of Ammunition
Both accused were released on undertakings and are scheduled to appear in court on January 29, 2024.
