The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service is pleased to announce the return of its popular online auction platform, which is now live.

First launched in August 2021, the platform is used to auction off property seized in criminal investigations and recovered items that go unclaimed. Items such as tools, bicycles, jewelry, and vehicles have been auctioned off in the past.

Potential bidders must create an account with their name, email address, and phone number before they are able to place a bid. Winners will be notified by email and must provide payment via PayPal within 24 hours of the auction closing.

The first auction of 2023, which went live on June 14, will remain open until June 19 at 3:00 p.m.

Sault Police encourage the community to check back regularly as online auctions will be ongoing.

Funds collected from Sault Police auctions are deposited into accounts held by the Police Services Board. In accordance with the Police Services Act, this money can only be used for certain projects such as special investigative purposes or community appreciation.
