The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service is advising community members that door-to-door canvassers from UNICEF Canada will be in Sault Ste. Marie from August 28 to September 3, 2023.
Door-to-door canvassers wear photo ID badges that clearly identify them as canvassing on behalf of UNICEF Canada. The canvassers may knock on your door and ask you to donate to their charity using UNICEF Canada Donor forms.
Sault Police are aware of the canvassers’ presence in our community and have confirmed their legitimacy with UNICEF Canada.
“We recommend that community members exercise caution when making donations to door-to-door canvassers. Be sure to check that they are wearing a valid photo ID badge and that they are using legitimate forms.” Sault Police said in a release.
