Michigan House Bill 5223 and House Bill 5224, along with Senate Bill 617 and Senate Bill 618 look to implement additional sentencing options for drivers who hit vulnerable roadway users.
This includes pedestrians, horse-drawn carriages and cyclists.
The two House bills will now be reviewed by the Senate and the Senate bills reviewed by the House.
