On March 18, 2024, officers with Patrol Services charged 32-year-old Patrick Stone with possession of prohibited weapons and obstructing a peace officer.

Shortly after midnight, 911 Communicators received a report of a suspicious person on a bicycle in the area of Campbell Avenue and Cunningham Road. Officers were dispatched to the area and located the accused, who matched the description of the suspect, at the intersection of Edmonds Road and McNabb Street after following their bicycle tracks and footprints.

The accused was placed under investigative detention and provided a false name to officers. A subsequent search found them to be in possession of three knives, two of which open with centrifugal force, making them prohibited weapons. The accused was arrested.

The accused is charged with:

  • Obstruct Peace Officer
  • Unauthorized Possession of Weapon x2
  • Failure to Comply with Undertaking x2

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on May 13, 2024.
