One Charged with Weapon Offences, Obstruction

On August 20, 2023, officers with Patrol Services charged 28-year-old Morgan Robinson with obstructing a peace officer and multiple weapon offences.

Around 3:00 a.m., police were investigating an incident near James Street and observed someone attempting to avoid them. When officers stopped and questioned them, they provided an alias and appeared to have an edged weapon in their jacket. Officers told them to drop the weapon and they refused. They were arrested and later identified as the accused.

A subsequent search found the accused to be in possession of a sword, a large knife, and a pellet gun. They were also wanted on outstanding Ontario Provincial Police warrants.

The accused is charged with:

  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • Carry Concealed Weapon
  • Obstruct Peace Officer

The accused is being held in custody pending a bail hearing before being released on bail.
