One Charged with Assault, Uttering Threats

On July 30, 2023, officers with Patrol Services charged 27-year-old Shelby Elie with assault and uttering threats.

Around 6:00 p.m., 911 Communicators received a report of an assault at a business in the 200 block of Bay Street. The report stated the accused had assaulted an employee and verbally threatened them when asked to leave the premises. Security officers had placed the accused in custody while waiting for police. Officers were dispatched to the business and the accused was arrested.

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on October 16, 2023.
