On May 14, 2024, officers with Patrol Services charged 24-year-old Marissa Sayers with assault with a weapon.
Around 2:45 p.m., 911 Communicators received a report of an assault in the 600 block of Queen Street East. Officers were dispatched to the scene. Although the accused had left prior to officers’ arrival, an investigation revealed they had thrown hypodermic needles at a victim who had attempted to stop them from bothering someone. The accused and victims are unknown to one another. No physical injuries were sustained.
Officers located the accused shortly thereafter in the 500 block of Bay Street, and they were arrested.
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on July 8, 2024.
